How Visit Seattle took a Chinese celebrity FAM to new heights

East West Marketing hosts two media FAMs annually for Visit Seattle with leading lifestyle, tourism, and food & wine media. In order to increase exposure, we organized a celebrity media FAM in partnership with Chinese leading travel magazine Mr. Voyage.

Joint partnership with Mr. Voyage magazine and A-list celebrity Dou Xiao

  • Through our extensive network, we find authentic ways to partner celebrities with our clients that result in massive earned media opportunities.
  • We worked with Visit Seattle to create a custom hiking experience and photo shoot for Dou Xiao.
  • From logistics to film permits and celebrity talent management to scheduling, East West Marketing led the planning and successful execution for this large- scale project.


A 10-page featured article in Mr. Voyage about hiking in Seattle, along with a variety of personal content shared from the power actor’s social media channels, resulted in more than $3 million in earned media.
